Oracle is an American multinational company with offices across the world. Earlier this year, it opened a new Cloud Sales Center in Amsterdam, located at the Nieuwevaart, with a workspace for around 450 employees.
Oracle is currently looking to recruit English and German-speaking cloud sales professionals to join the team in developing its portfolio of cloud applications and services in the city where some of the largest brands in Europe are based.
What does Oracle do?
With 40 years’ experience in providing cutting-edge business technology products and services, Oracle is a world leader in the corporate information technology (IT) field. The company offers support to businesses of all shapes and sizes, assisting them with digital transformation and in getting to grips with emerging technologies. Marie-Therese Roemer, an Oracle sales representative who moved from their Dublin to their Amsterdam offices in 2016, is very happy with her transfer, and enthusiastic about the cachet that the experience brings to her CV: “Other tech companies love to hire Oracle employees because they are trained very well; Oracle invests a lot of money into young sales professionals.”
Oracle offers both software and hardware products and services to over 430,000 customers in 175 countries, as well as training and consultancy support. Central to its software business is Oracle Cloud, which provides industry-leading options for SaaS (software as a service), IaaS (infrastructure as a service) and PaaS (platform as a service). Through these, customers can access cloud applications, networks, storage and servers. Its cloud application suite features more than a thousand SaaS applications, while its IaaS capabilities allow companies to manage workloads of any size in the cloud. In October 2017, the company launched the world’s first autonomous database cloud.
The newly-opened facility in Amsterdam is dedicated to Oracle’s cloud computing service. Rene van Stiphout, head of Oracle Netherlands, said that “the Netherlands is becoming a larger cloud market within the EMEA. We’re welcoming many new cloud sales professionals in Amsterdam every month.”
