Aljezur Council and Polis Litoral Sudoeste Society, the sister organization to Polis Litoral Ria Formosa and also ‘in liquidation’, has announced that it has commissioned work to Portinho da Arrifana and is creating a footbridge to Odeceixe beach.
The deal was signed off in December last year.
According to Aljezur Council, the contract at Portinho da Arrifana included the tidying up repair to various degraded installations.
The Council is paying €150,000 toward the €449,000 budget which is being supported by European funding.
“This important work will bring better conditions of work and safety to the fishing community of Portinho de Arrifana,” says the local authority.
The second contract is to carry out a pedestrian access project to Odeceixe Sul beach to improve pedestrian circulation and safety.”
The Council is shelling out €208,000 to have this work done.
