Two Mexican women among Germanwings victims

Two Mexican women were among the 150 victims of the Germanwings flight that crashed in France, the foreign ministry said Wednesday.

The women were identified as Daniela Ayon Razo and Dora Isela Salas Vazquez, who has dual Mexican and Spanish citizenship.

The ministry had previously indicated that three Mexicans were possibly on the Airbus A320 that crashed in the Alps on Tuesday, but the government said the third victim was a Spaniard wrongly identified as Mexican.

Mexican media said Ayon was a 36-year-old yoga expert and globetrotter from Tampico, on the northeastern coastal state of Tamaulipas. She earned a master’s degree in business communications in Barcelona, where the Germany-bound flight originated.

Isela is a native of the northern industrial hub of Monterrey who had been living in Barcelona for 11 years.
