Silves Council has come over all aesthetic and has issued rules and regulation to stop property owners doing inappropriate things to their buildings that let the whole street down.
A new municipal regulation covering urbanisation and construction in Silves goes into effect on Wednesday, February 20.
The Council said the document is to, “clarify the technical concepts used in urban planning, as well as procedural rules not expressly provided for in the Juridical Regime of Urbanisation and Building, in order to give greater clarity and transparency.”
The regulation recognised that the rules in force when buildings were constructed should be the ones that are used and aims to regularise illegally built properties.
