Soyuz to carry first Galileo satellites into space

The Russian rocket Soyuz is due to lift off at 9:34 a.m. 10:34 GMT on Thursday with the first satellites of the Galileo project, a European version of the US Global Positioning System, or GPS, with mapping accurate to within one metre.
