PACQS Foundation – in memory of Antoine van Veldhuizen‏

It is now just over half a year since we lost Antoine van Veldhuizen and his family on the fatal flight of MH17.

In their memory, we are proud to inform you of the PACQS Foundation, newly established in Pijke, Antoine, Christiene, Quint and Simone’s names. Run by family and close friends, PACQS—to be pronounced ‘pax’, Latin for ‘peace’—has made it its mission to support a number of charities striving towards world peace and a safer, healthier and more sustainable society.

To mark the start of the PACQS Foundation and in memory of Antoine’s own passion for skating, a group of family and friends will participate in the Weissensee tour. Antoine participated in this 200-kilometre-long alternative ‘Elfstedentocht’ organised in Austria several times. Through sponsorship, the skaters will raise awareness for the foundation and funds for a memorial tree to be placed in the street where Antoine and his family lived. The city of Haarlem supports this initiative in kind.

Should you be interested in supporting PACQS, you can make your own donation to NL89TRIO0198031696 attn Stichting PACQS. A donation of EUR 100 or above makes you a ‘friend’ to the foundation (please confirm by sending an email with your full name to [email protected]).

We wish all Expatica readers a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015.
