Kosovo Serbs defy EU and Serbia in referendum

Serbs in northern Kosovo have overwhelmingly rejected the authority of the Kosovar government in Pristina, which is dominated by ethnic Albanians, in defiance of attempts by the European Union and Serbia to pacify the newly independent territory.
