Grand Duke of Luxembourg Henri, who is the country's head of state, underwent cardiac care after a "slight malaise" but his condition is "not giving cause for concern," the palace said Friday.
The Grand Duke “successfully underwent a coronary angioplasty,” a procedure used to open blocked or narrowed heart arteries, at a leading Luxembourg hospital on Thursday, the palace press service said in a statement.
“The health of His Royal Highness is not giving cause for concern. He will quickly be able to leave the hospital,” it added.
The 55-year-old sovereign, a sportsman and father of five, in 2000 took over from his father, Grand Duke Jean, who abdicated and who last month turned 90.
