xpatica is currently looking for experts on a number of topics to answer our audience’s questions posted to our Ask the Expert service.
All experts receive a profile page on Expatica, where they can publish a short bio blurb about themselves or their company, accompanied by contact details and a photo.
Our experts are also invited to write articles for Expatica, relating to their expertise (and within the limits of Expatica’s focus). This allows our experts to receive considerable recognition and promotion for themselves or their companies, as Expatica attracts an average of 1.5 million hits per month.
In exchange for your services, you will be given the opportunity to endorse your expertise and company through practical promotion, which can lead to new clients. However, please note that this is an unpaid position.
What the position involves:
You will be forwarded questions from our Ask the Expert department relating to your field of expertise.
Depending on the popularity of the topic, questions may total one or two per day, or as few as one or two per week.
All you need to do is provide a short but adequate response to our moderator and we’ll send your answer to the recipient and publish it on our site.
What we are looking for:
- Reliable and correct information.
- Approachable, friendly and non-commercial interaction.
- Ability to respond within one week (max.), although within three days is preferable.
- Good level of English.
- Able to respond to at least three questions per week.
- Have extensive knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following categories:
|Relocation||Advice on aspects involved with moving to the country the expert specialises in, including information on connecting electricity, gas, internet, and phone plans/contracts.|
|Immigration||Advice on aspects involved with visa procedures relevant organisations.|
|Employment/HR||Advice on aspects involved with contracts and benefits.|
|Business||Advice on aspects involved with setting up and running a business in a foreign country.|
|Tax||Advice on aspects involved with taxation regulations, exceptions, filing tax returns etc.|
|Insurance||Advice on aspects involved with health insurance, home insurance, car insurance, etc.|
|Pensions||Advice on aspects involved with pensions, including pensions acquired abroad.|
|Banking & investments||Advice on financial aspects involved with opening a bank account and managing savings and investments abroad.|
|Housing||Advice on aspects involved with renting, buying and selling, and contracts.|
|Healthcare||Advice on which organisations (hospital, physiotherapist, dentist, home physicians etc.) to go to.|
|Divorce & mediation||Advice on aspects involved with procedures of divorce and mediation, as well as which parties to turn to for legal aid.|
|Cultural transition||Advice on aspects of moving countries related to culture, habits and customs.|
|Transportation/Driving||Advice on aspects involved with public transportation, driving, driver’s license, etc.|
|Midwife/giving birth||Advice on procedures and which organisations to go to during each pregnancy stage and after giving birth.|
