MADRID – The body of a young woman who was stripped and murdered in a Madrid suburb has been identified, police said Tuesday.
She was found naked from the waist down and her throat had been slashed.
Police now think she was a 24-year-old Bolivian woman who lived in the nearby area of Manzanares El Real and who worked as a cleaner.
The body was found late Monday near a tunnel under the M-607 road in the suburb of Tres Cantos.
Police believe she had been sexually abused before her throat was cut with some sort of sharp object.
The woman has not been named.
An autopsy showed she had been killed five hours before her body was discovered by passers-by.
The Spanish boyfriend of the victim was arrested hours after the woman’s corpse was found.
The judge in the case has ordered that no more details be released in connection with the case.
