Netanyahu condemns Barcelona attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for the “civilised world” to unite against terrorism after a deadly van attack in Barcelona on Thursday.

“Israel firmly condemns the terrorist attack in Barcelona,” he said.

“This evening we have seen once again that terrorism strikes everywhere. The civilised world must unite to defeat it.”

At least 13 people were killed Thursday when a driver deliberately slammed a van into crowds on Las Ramblas, Barcelona’s most famous street, in what police said was a “terror attack”.

Two suspects have been arrested over the attack, according to Spanish authorities.
