VIP fliers get free Internet access

17 February 2004

MADRID – VIP passengers with Iberia to all the major Spanish airports will be able to use the Internet free with “wireless” laptops, it was announced Tuesday.

Iberia spokesman Felix Garcia said it had installed the system in its VIP lounges at Madrid and Barcelona airports.

Within a month, the service will also be available at Seville, Bilbao and Valencia airports.

Garcia said by next year, business-class passengers will also be able to use the service.

The service was provided after a deal between Iberia and Toshiba Espana.

The companies claim that using new WiFi technology, clients will be able to access the Internet anywhere.
