MADRID- The number of people in work grew by 51,027 in May, according to figures released Wednesday.
The Labour Ministry said that this meant the total jobless figure fell to 1.65 million.
The biggest growth area was in the services sector, said analysts. There were 31,549 new jobs in this sector last month.
This was followed by manufacturing industry, where 5,672 new posts were created.
After this, there were 4,216 new posts in the construction sector and 693 agricultural jobs.
More men found work than women.
The number of men in work grew by 3.19 percent, while the number of unemployed women declined 2.86 percent.
