Teenage racer dies after crash

CHESTE – A teenage motorbike rider injured in a crash has died in hospital, medical sources said Monday.
Nicolás Santana, 16, was hurt while taking part in a motorsport competition in Cheste, near Valencia in eastern Spain.
Santana died in the Hospital La Fe de Valencia where he had been taken after the crash during the race.
He was injured while training for the race, the Cradle of Champions, a national competition for younger riders.
Santana was involved in an accident with two other riders.
The second rider could not do anything to stop himself smashing into Santana.
Santana was taken to hospital but died at 5am Sunday morning.
One of the other riders, who was also caught up in the accident, fractured his right tibia and had to undergo surgery.
The third rider came out of the crash without injuries, hospital sources said.
