Teenage parents and baby found murdered

5 November 2004

MADRID-Spanish police have launched an investigation into the triple murder of two teenagers and their nine-month-old baby.

The boy, aged 17, and his 16-year-old girlfriend and the child were found dead in a flat in Madrid in the early hours of Friday morning.

They had been “savagely” stabbed, said police sources.

A neighbour raised the alarm at about 3.30am.

Spain’s national state-run television TVE reported the couple were of gipsy origin.

The boy’s body was found in the hallway, and the girl and baby’s corpses were in the living room.

Police sources added that the cause of the triple murder was unclear.

Relatives claimed a neighbour in the Tetuan area where the couple lived had killed them.

No arrests have been made.
