Spaniard scoops 121 million euros in lottery win

A ticket-holder, who has won 121 million euros on the Euromillions lottery, is from the southern Spanish city of Seville, national LAE lottery said Saturday.

“The lottery jackpot is the second biggest paid out by Euromillions in Spain, after a player won 126.2 million euros in Madrid in May 2009,” LAE said in a statement.

The company did not give details about the winner who bought his or her ticket in a Seville shopping centre and won on Friday.

A ticket-holder in Britain won a record 129 million euros on the Euromillions lottery in October last year.

The Euromillions lottery, launched in 2004, is now played by nine countries across western Europe: Austria, Belgium, Britain, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
