Sevilla’s Dragutinovic out for three weeks after groin operation

27 March 2008

MADRID – Spanish giants Sevilla announced on Thursday that defender Ivica Dragutinovic had undergone a groin operation and would be out of action for around three weeks.

He was operated upon on Wednesday in the specialist Hernienzentrum clinic in Starnberg, Bavaria. Sevilla doctor Adolfo Munoz was present in Germany.

The Serbian defender will return to Sevilla in four or five days, and will be out of action for around three weeks.

Dragutinovic has been playing at left-back all season instead of his usual centre-back position, because of the tragic death of first-choice left-back Antonio Puerta in August.

Sevilla were eliminated in the Champions League round of 16 by Fenerbahce and are currently sixth in La Liga.
