Series of gas explosions kill four in Spain

BARCELONA – A series of gas explosion in several Spanish cities killed four people and wounded 14, reports said Monday.

Three people were killed in an eight storey building in Barcelona when gas exploded and set part of the building on fire. Thirteen people had to be hospitalised due to injuries or smoke poisoning, the authorities said.

Meanwhile in Alcala de Henares, east of Madrid, one man was killed by a gas explosion in his home while in Valls near Tarragona a woman was severely injured in another gas explosion.

The causes of the explosions were not yet clear.
