MALAGA – Forty-five people were rescued by police after they became trapped in their cars in heavy snow Thursday.
Police said they had to rescue the motorists near the Andalusian town of Ronda in the early hours of the morning.
Thirty cars were stuck on the roads after heavy snowfalls in this mountainous region.
They were left stranded on the A376 road between Malaga and Sevilla.
A spokesman from Civil Protection and Provincial Traffic Office said two other roads, the A369 between Ronda and Algeciras, and the A376 between Ronda and San Pedro have been closed due to the heavy snowfall.
There were heavy snowfalls in the north west of Spain in Galicia Thursday, causing more traffic problems. No injuries were reported.
