Most Spaniards happy with their sex lives

29 June 2004

MADRID — Most Spaniards are either “very satisfied” or “pretty satisfied” with their sex lives according to a survey published Tuesday.

Some 86 percent of Spaniards said they agreed with these two suggestions,  while only 11 percent said they were “somewhat satisfied” with their sex lives.

And just three percent admit to being “very little” or “not at all” happy with their sexual relations.

This is just one of the conclusions published in a research paper entitled “The Spaniard and Sex: Truths, Realities and Myths,” which analyses sexual tendencies in Spain through a study of more than 1,200 men and women between the ages of 25 and 45.

The Spanish Federation of Sexology Societies (FESS), which published the survey found 32 percent of Spaniards said they are “very satisfied” and 54 percent are “pretty satisfied” with their sex lives.

More than half (51 percent) of those polled said they have sex two or three times a week, followed by 20 percent who do it once, and only 12 percent who claim to have sexual relations daily.

Spanish women seem to be slightly more content than their macho counterparts – 34 percent claimed to be “very satisfied” sexually.

But  only 29 percent of Spanish men responded in the same way.
