3 January 2006

CORDOBA — A two-year-old boy who disappeared overnight from a campsite has been found.

The boy’s family spent a nightmare night searching for the child who went missing on Monday afternoon from the site in Cordoba, Andalucia.

He was found 15 hours later, holding a boot in his hand and calling for his mother.

He was suffering from light hyperthermia but was otherwise healthy.

The boy had been playing with his cousins when they had a row and he went off.

Police launched a search with officers from nearby Priego, Carcabuey and Fuente Tojar.

Volunteers and firefighters joined the family and police in the hunt for the boy.

Throughout the whole night, they searched without locating him.
