King says sorry to foreign terrorist victims

MADRID – King Juan Carlos expressed “sadness, pain and solidarity” of the Royal family and the Spanish people Tuesday with the countries of the foreign victims of the 11 March terrorist attacks.
Forty-seven foreigners were killed in the Madrid bombings.
The King, at a reception for ambassadors from all the countries of the foreign victims, indicated that the Spanish government is to look after the needs of these victims and their relatives.
The ambassadors thanked the King and the Spanish government for the treatment of their nationals and their families in the wake of the terrorist attacks in which 191 people died and more than 1,500 were injured.
The outgoing Foreign Minister, Ana Palacio, took part in the reception at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid.
