A Spanish woman arrested in Italy for the murders of two ex-partners whose bodies were found in the cellar of her Vienna ice cream parlour will be extradited to Austria, a court ruled on Monday.
Goidsargi Estibaliz Carranza Zabala, a 32-year-old with joint Spanish and Mexican nationality, was arrested on June 10 in Udine in northeast Italy after Austrian investigators found the remains of two men in the cellar.
The woman had agreed to the extradition, said her lawyer, Luca Beorchia.
The bodies — one apparently her German ex-husband and the other a former boyfriend — had been dismembered, packed in plastic and set in concrete.
The first murder reportedly occurred in 2008, while the boyfriend was reported missing last November. The bodies found in the cellar had been shot.
Austrian police put out a European warrant for her arrest earlier this year after the woman disappeared shortly after the bodies were found.
Her Italian lawyer Luca Beorchia said the suspect is pregnant from her current boyfriend, has not been eating well and is therefore in a frail state.
Under Italian law, the extradition must now occur within 45 days.
