MADRID – A health association attacked a ruling by the European Court which allows medicines to be sold over the internet, it was reported Friday.
ANEPF, an association for self-help health, claimed the ruling contravened human rights.
They said if patients bought their medicines through the Internet, they would have no contact with medical professionals or pharmacists when they order medicines which arrive through the post.
The association said this meant patients would not have the chance to talk to pharmacists who might suggest other remedies.
In Spain there is a long tradition of buying self-help cures rather than going to see a doctor or attending a hospital.
