MADRID – Spain’s consumer prices rose 0.70 percent in March, bringing the year-on-year inflation rate to 2.1 percent, the National Statistics Institute reported Thursday.
Since inflation decreased 0.70 percent in January and remained stable in February, year-to-date prices remained unchanged.
The underlying rate of inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, grew 0.60 percent last month for a year-on-year rate of 2.2 percent.
Clothing and shoe prices rose 2.8 percent, while communications fell 0.10 percent.
