Hunt for park strangler

BARCELONA – Police hunting the killer of a young woman whose body was discovered in a park appealed for help Friday to identify her.

The woman, who was about 25 years old, had been strangled to death and her body dumped in the park De Las Aguas in Barcelona.

Her body was dumped in the park sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning.

She was found by a passer-by.

A post-mortem said she had been strangled to death.

Police said the victim was white, Slavonic in appearance, with dark, straight hair.
She was about 175cm tall and weighed 60kg.

They said distinguishing marks on the girl’s body were a pierced belly-button and a blue tattoo.
 
She was wearing a beige jersey, a brown T-shirt and two pairs of blue socks one of which had the mark ‘Piolin’. She was wearing pointed, brown ankle boots.

There have been no arrests in connection with the murder.
