ALBACETE — The hunt continued for the parents of a baby boy whose body was discovered on the altar of Albacete cathedral.
A sacristan discovered the boy’s body on the altar and raised the alarm on Tuesday.
Despite attempts by medics to save the child, he died.
The boy, who was white, was only a few days old.
The sacristan, who found the child at about 1pm, called emergency services on his mobile.
Medics arrived at the cathedral a few minutes later and tried to resuscitate the child but without success.
The child’s body was taken to the Hospital de Perpetuo Socorro in Albacete for a post-mortem to be carried out.
