BARCELONA — A court jailed a Greek Orthodox priest for two years for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl he was giving Greek language classes.
Dionysios Stafilakis, 57, was found to have touched the girl in an inappropriate manner on at least four occasions during classes for pupils aged three to six.
The priest was extradited last month to Spain from Greece to stand trial.
In addition to his prison sentence Stafilakis was ordered to pay the girl EUR 3,000 compensation and banned from teaching for a year.
