Customs police have seized more than two tonnes of cannabis smuggled into France from Spain hidden in a shipment of carrots, authorities said Thursday.
Customs police said in a statement they had seized the 2.1 tonnes of cannabis, with an estimated street value of 10 million euros ($13 million), after stopping a truck on a highway near Tours, in central France.
Sniffer dogs discovered the drugs hidden among the boxes of carrots, listed as originating in Spain.
