25 May 2004

SAN SEBASTIAN – The newlywed Royal couple were forced to break away from their lunch to wave to cheering crowds Tuesday who are following their every move.

Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia dined at the exclusive Arzak restaurant in San Sebastian in the latest step on their honeymoon.

The prince drove his bride to San Sebastián in the Basque Country after they paid a visit to the monument at Sos del Rey Católico in Zaragoza, in eastern Spain.

They also stopped to see the town of Olite in Navarra in north-west Spain.

In San Sebastian, crowds gathered outside the restaurant and shouted to see Princesa Letizia.

When the couple came to the window to wave, they received a huge cheer.

Sources told EFE news agency the couple ate a meal of egg with squid sauce, hake with garlic rolls, then Letizia had  aroasted pigeon while the prince ate roasted lamb.

The couple ate a chocolate pastry for their final course.
