MADRID – An air-force captain and a lieutenant were killed Wednesday in a plane crash.

They were travelling in a C-90 light aircraft to the Parla civil airport near Madrid when the crash happened.

The plane came down in an open space on the outskirts of Parla.

The crash happened near a  rain line and a commercial area called El Ferial.

The area was cordoned off while fire crews, police and a military
helicopter attended the scene of the fatal crash.

An investigation has been launched to try to discover the cause of the crash.
