LISBON-Controversial photographs of David Beckham dressed only in underpants and apparently playing with his genitals have caused a fresh row over the player Thursday.
A Portuguese paparazzi captured the image of the Real Madrid and England star on the balcony of his hotel in Portugal in a state of undress.
The British tabloids The Sun and Daily Star have both used the photographs on their front pages Thursday – despite a threat of being banned by the English Football Association days before the European championship starts in Portugal.
Many Spanish newspapers carried the same photographs on their websites Thursday.
Beckham, captain of the England team, has been the subject of allegations that he had affairs with two women.
The 29-year-old denied the allegations and said his marriage to singer Victoria Beckham was solid.
The latest story follows reports Victoria Beckham had booked a villa because she did not want to be with the other wives and partners of the England team during the tournament.
