BARCELONA — One of the worst forest fires in Spain this summer destroyed 1,400 hectares of land and left four people injured.
After four days of battling against the blaze, fire fighters finally brought it under control early on Monday.
A helicopter which had been dropping water on the fire accidentally hit a power cable and crashed, though the pilot survived without injury.
The fire stated on Friday in the Pinós area, near Solsonés in Catalonia, north-east Spain.
Three fire fighters suffered light injuries and motorcyclist who was driving near the area of the blaze was also burnt.
The teenager, named only as Josep María A.E., was taken to hospital in Barcelona but his condition was not thought to be serious.
Investigators said it was still not known what had started the blaze, thought it appeared to be the work of arsonists.
Last week, another forest fire in Catalonia forced authorities to evacuate 600 people near Barcelona.
The blaze started in a forest area in Castellbisbal and destroyed almost 200 hectares of land.
Authorities are investigating if the fire could have been started intentionally.
