Air Europa jet skids off Paris runway, no one hurt

A Spanish Air Europa plane carrying 162 passengers skidded off the runway on landing at Paris Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, but no one was hurt in the incident, police told AFP.

The jet, which flew in from Valencia on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, landed at around 9:20 pm (2020 GMT).

Police said it was not immediately clear why the aircraft left the runway.

A spokesman for the firemen said the plane “landed normally before it got stuck in the grass as it entered a taxiway”.

A passenger told AFP that all passengers and crew were still on board the aircraft at 10:30 pm (2130 GMT).

Passengers were also told that the plane could not be towed as vehicles risked getting stuck in the rain-soaked ground.

“The landing was normal, the plane slowed down and then we felt it sliding,” said the passenger.
