South Africa’s population breaks 54-million

Life expectancy in South Africa continues to rise as the country’s population breaks the 54-million mark, Statistics SA reported on Thursday. The county’s life expectancy now stands at 61, thanks to improved health and living standards and increased access to antiretroviral therapy for people living with HIV.
