Wits physicists have announced a breakthrough in the study of external galaxies using
the High Energy Stereoscopic System telescopes. The team has found three
“extremely luminous gamma-ray sources in the Large Magellanic Cloud”, a satellite
dwarf galaxy of the Milky Way.
