Plans to tap into South Africa’s oceans on track

Operation Phakisa to promote economic growth and job creation is surging ahead. Its
oceans economy lab is in the implementation phase. This comes as South Africa’s
oceans are estimated to have the potential to contribute up to R177-billion to gross
domestic product.
