Last year’s downhill champion from the UCI MTB World Cup Pietermaritzburg, Aaron Gwin, used the season-opener as a springboard to the overall World Cup title. From 16 to 18 March, he’ll be back at the scene of what he considers his best ever victory to begin his title defence.
