A Dutch tourist on safari in South Africa was shot during a lodge robbery in a town bordering the Kruger National Park, police said on Wednesday.
Armed men burst into the room occupied by the 55-year-old man who was with another Dutch companion, before taking off with their overnight bags and a television set.
Police spokesman Selvy Mohlala said the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning, in Hazyview.
The town lies on the south western side of the world-famous Kruger National Park, which receives almost one million tourists each year, and is popular with local and foreign tourists.
The man whose name was not revealed was treated in hospital and discharged.
No arrests have been made.
