Railway line reopens after derailment involving 30 people

RAILWAY LINE REOPENS AFTER DERAILMENT INVOLVING 30 PEOPLEThe Algarve railway line between Vila Real de Santo António and Faro was closed at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon due to the derailment of a train near Quinta do Marim, in the municipality of Olhão.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, “the derailment of two ‘carriages’ caused only material damage.  There were no injuries caused to the 30 people inside the train.”
