The Algarve and Europe are the most popular destinations chosen by the Portuguese holiday choices, with 52% craving time at the beach to relax and recharge.

This annual holiday budget has only slightly increased since the 2017 figure of €700, but the period of two weeks remains favourite, predominantly taken between July and September (85%).

Those wanting to travel further afield prefer chose Europe as their number one vacation destination (34%), followed by Africa (4%) then South America (2%).
