Portugal reaches five million vaccines administered

span>According to the communication office of the task force, the number covers mainland Portugal and the regions of the Azores and Madeira.
span>In the specific case of mainland Portugal, the five million vaccines administered are expected to be reached on Monday evening or Tuesday, the same source said.
span>In mainland Portugal, the total number of vaccines administered was, at 4:30 pm on Sunday, about 4,939,000, of which about 3,358,000 first doses and close to 1,581,000 with complete vaccination.
span>On Saturday, the coordinator of the task force for vaccination against Covid-19, Gouveia e Melo, said that on August 8th, 70% of the population will have had at least one dose of the vaccine.
span>“If everything goes well, if the vaccines arrive, so we have the vaccines that we think we have available, on August 8th, we will have 70% of the population with at least one dose,” said Vice Admiral Gouveia e Melo, in Leiria.
span>In Portugal, 17,017 people have died from 845,224 confirmed cases of infection, according to the most recent bulletin from the Directorate-General for Health.
