Docapesca has begun the refurbishment of the fish sorting and auction area at the fishing port of Olhão.
The spend is close to € 200,000 and is expected to take 120 days, as detailed in the public tender launched in December 2018.
The contract is part of a general upgrade for one of the region’s busiest commercial ports in a move to improve working conditions across the Algarve’s facilities.
The work includes the reorganisation and resurfacing of the interior space, where the fish are unloaded, sorted and sold.
It will be as usual as a temporary area will be used while the work goes on.
