Makro opens to all consumers during the state of emergencyMakro Portugal has announced that its doors are open to the general public from today until the 30th of January. The company’s decision follows the “new declaration of a State of National Emergency and in line with the Government’s guidelines”.

With the motto “For a greater cause a bigger house” all 10 Makro stores (Braga, Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, Coimbra, Leiria, Alfragide, Cascais, Palmela, Faro and Albufeira) are now able to sell to the private consumer.

The company states that “it is totally committed to the country, committing itself to develop its best efforts to guarantee the safety of all those who visit its establishments in this critical public health period”.

“Taking into account the State of National Emergency in which Portugal finds itself as a result of the evolution of the cases of COVID-19, once again, in an exceptional way, as wholesalers and in a situation of support to society, we are opening our stores to all. Our main concern is to maintain our operation so that the Portuguese are without nothing – this is our public mission ”, says David Antunes, CEO of Makro Portugal.
