Fisherman’s body found at Armação de Pêra beach
Last night, the body of a 70-year-old fisherman was found inside one of the fishing equipment storage huts on Armação de Pêra beach.

According to the Maritime Authorities “the information was received at 19:30 via 112, following an alert from a relative of the victim.” The local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão were immediately sent to the scene, along with INEM and the Volunteer Firefighters of Silves.
At the scene, the Maritime Police confirmed the presence of the body, and the death was declared on the spot by the INEM team.
The mans body was transported by an ambulance from the Volunteer Firefighters of Silves to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Portimão.
The cause of death is still to be determined, but natural causes are suspected.
