Over 40 firefighters – aided by 11 land vehicles and one helicopter – are battling a fire which broke out near the Armação de Pêra camping site this Monday afternoon.
Authorities were alerted shortly after 1pm that an area of scrubland near the camping site was on fire.
The camping site has not been evacuated as firefighters did not deem it necessary.
The firefighting team includes ‘bombeiros’ from Silves, Portimão, Lagoa, Albufeira and São Bartolomeu de Messines.
