According to exit polls, the ruling Socialist Party was way ahead in Portugal’s European Parliamentary elections with 30% to 34% of the votes.
The People Animals Nature party had a candidate elected for the first time after gaining 4% to 6% of the votes.
The second most voted for party was the PSD, with 20% to 24% of the votes and the election of five to six MEPs. The Left Bloc was third, with 9% to 12% of the votes and the election of two or three MEPs.
The projections suggested by ICS / ISCTE / GFK / Metris, confirmed the Socialists will win the European elections, with a percentage between 30.9% to 34.9% and the election of eight to nine MEPs.
