The body of an elderly man aged about 80 years was found lifeless inside his house yesterday afternoon, with signs of a violent assault. Authorities suspect he was murdered following a robbery.
The alert was given by a family member who visited the house late morning on Sunday, to discover the body of the man and the house ransacked, drawers torn out and mattresses overturned.
A neighbour noticed the barking of dogs and the lights on around dawn.
The man, who lived alone, had already suffered several robberies, including that of agricultural implements and carobs. However this case, with the appearance of a violent robbery, has put additional fear in to the hearts of the neighbourhood.
