Elderly couple found dead in their home in São Brás de Alportel

The Judiciary Police (PJ) are investigating the death of a couple in their 80’s in São Brás de Alportel, found in their home by a carer.

According to Correio da Manhã, the couple were found by the person who assisted them at home in the early afternoon of yesterday. The carer alerted authorities, and police arrived at the scene to remove the bodies and collect evidence to investigate the circumstances in which the elderly couple died.

According to newspapers, “there is a suspicion that the man killed the woman and then committed suicide”, but there is no proof as yet that this was the case.

GNR have isolated the couples home while investigations are ongoing.
