The parts of Herdade da Comporta to be sold to Paula Amorim and Claude Berda now can be sold.
The purchase deed, amounting to €157.52 million for the 1,000 plus hectares, should be signed in the following few weeks.
The deal has been worked on over the past months, mainly to determine the exact areas that make up only 10% of the total area of the estate.
The process of selling Herdade da Comporta is complex due to the large number of people an businesses involved – 87 participants in the real estate fund that controls the estate – plus the Rio Forte liquidator commission, Novo Banco, members of the Espírito Santo family plus the representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Central Criminal Investigation Court that had seized Rio Forte’s assets.
